The recent trend of shade adjusting drops has fair skinned babes rejoicing all over the world. No longer is there any need to cry that no company has any foundation light enough, now you can make your very own shade! Not only is this a porcelain girls best friend, it’s also a life saver for the rest of us who have stashed away bottles of foundation that have never been quite the right shade.
L.a girl are a super affordable brand who have stepped their game up ten fold and are bringing out some awesome quality trendy products, at very low prices. The Pro coverage foundation is a new range which boast 16 shades in an illuminating formula. This product is an actual white foundation, so not only does it have the ability to make other foundations lighter upon mixing, it also adds coverage. It’s actually a phenomenally good idea, I can’t believe it’s only just being brought in to main stream brands!
So how exactly do you use it without looking like a mime? Remember when you were little and played with paints, mixing colours? It’s kind of like that, a bit of trial and error. How much you need to use is going to depend on how much lighter you need your foundation to be, so start with a drop size and go from there. Remember this is foundation so you want to take away the equivalent amount of your darker foundation so you don’t make too much.LEFT: Maybelline fit me shade 120. RIGHT: Mixed with a drop of L.A girl
As you can see, a tiny amount goes a long way. The foundation comes in a clear plastic bottle with a pump ( brownie points!) and you get 28ml for around NZ$19.99, which I think is great value.
I’m really impressed by the L.a girl white foundation. It works really well, looks lovely and dewy, and is a nice consistency for mixing. This baby is a life saver!
