I think having a go-to makeup collection is an absolute necessity. I virtually never touch up my makeup during the day, so having products that continue to look good throughout is super important. I own alot of makeup, but these are my must have reliable picks for everyday wear!My first step is prepping. Some people don’t believe in taking these steps, I however think it is crucial for longevity and a professional finish. I use Laura Mercier oil free primer, which is a nice simple base to keep all the other face products in place. Next I prep my lids with MAC painterley paint pot, which evens the colour of my lids and helps to keep my eyeshadow intact. Lastly I use Blistex lip balm to hydrate and soften.Next I take RCMA colour process foundation. This is an oil based foundation in a cream form. I take some directly from the jar, warming it up between my ring fingers then apply to my face. I like to spray some Mario Badescu Rosewater spray to help make the foundation a little more fluid, then blend it all out with a sponge. One of the most important steps now, under eye concealer! My all time favourite is MAC pro longwear, as it provides great coverage and lasts all day without creasing. I also warm this up between my ring fingers then apply and blend out with a sponge. I use Australis illuminating drops on the tops of my cheekbones, cupids bow, the bridge of my nose and the arch of my brow. To add a bit of colour back I use Air Fit cushion blush, and Too Faced Chocolate soleil bronzer. I like to use RCMA no colour powder on my nose, chin and between my brows as those areas tend to be a little oilier, so it helps to keep things intact a bit longer, and also minimize the look of pores. For eyes I use two Colourpop eyeshadows, ‘wakeup call‘ a neutral brown for the crease, and ‘top notch‘ a warm red brown for the outer V and lower lash line. To add definition I smudge a brown Kryolan eyeliner on the top lash line, and add two coats of Loreal Volume million lashes mascara. The last step is NYX tame and frame pomade for my brows.
This is what I wear for work everyday, and it takes about 20 minutes to achieve. I often end up wearing a variation of this when I go out aswell, and just add a lipstick. It’s a very fresh and natural look that wears well through the day, perfect for people on the go!
I’d love to hear what your everyday products are, feel free to leave a comment and let me know!
